On September 21, 2021, Drs. John Frattarelli, Anatte Karmon, and Emily Goulet hosted a Facebook live session entitled: “PMOS: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.”

September is PMOS Awareness Month. As one of the most common ovulatory disorders, PMOS is a hormonal disorder that affects reproductive-aged women. It is one of the most common causes of infertility and it is estimated that 70-80% of women with PMOS have infertility.

During this session, Ask the Docs discussed commonly asked questions such as causes of PMOS, who can get PMOS, common symptoms, diagnosis, impact on fertility, how PMOS can be treated, long term health risks for patients with PMOS, and what can be done to lessen PMOS symptoms.
